Hi! I’m the Music Unc, the solo dev behind Vibe Together, a multiplayer music playground. \~4 yr labor of love. Excited to share and get people making bangers soon!

If you have made or ever wanted to get into music, then this game was made for you. Music and games are my biggest passions and I've been on a journey trying to build a game like way to make music. The goal is that making music should be accessible to everyone and feel playful, social, and alive.

  • Visual Sandbox: You connect objects on a grid and wire them together. Distance is rhythm and color is pitch. Animations are tied to things like note duration and velocity. This allows for some really cool non-linear sequencing. Much easier than DAW/audio production tools!
  • Multiplayer: 8 players making music live. Ever wanted to be in a band? Now you can :)
  • Music Depth for Anyone: I spent \~2 years just working on a harmony aware procedural music system. You can explore ideas with it across chord progressions, keys, scales, and more. This way, everyone can make something that sounds great, no music experience needed. There is a custom synth engine here, EQ, MIDI/Audio import and export.
  • Arcade: Each song can turn into an arcade mode you can play with your friends and climb the leaderboards on. You can use your song to play a rhythm game, dodge to the beat, and even defend it where each instrument note turns into a projectile to fight the Vibe stealers! Something here for everyone to enjoy the music made in the sandbox!
  • Community: You can publish, remix, listen, upvote, comment on songs with your DJ avatar. Every week you can enter a Battle of the Bands with your crew to see who made the best song! Earn vinyl as you progress on different paths.

It started life as a music factory game (called Future Vibe Check). A few years in, I noticed the part I kept playing with was the sandbox, so I rebuilt the game focused on that.

AI disclosure: I solved the hardest engineering challenges myself over the years but in the past year have been using AI assistance for coding (dev tools, UI/UX polish, refactoring).

Happy to answer anything about how it works!
