Description:
The Last Paycheck is a pixel-art money game inspired by the Cashflow board game. You pick a job, from janitor to surgeon, and race three rivals who start the same day in the same economy. Every month brings a few cards: rentals, small businesses, stocks, a buyer for your property, or Kevin trying to sell you a jet ski on store credit. To turn Kevin down you have to stop a needle in a green zone, and that zone shrinks when your mood is low or your income is high. Your goal is to get your passive income above your bills, leave the rat race, then win in Freedom Heights: twice your bills covered, your dream paid in cash, and no job. A “My real life” mode lets you play with your own salary and expenses. Your save stays on your device, and there are no ads and no sign-up.

Involvement: Solo project. I came up with the idea, designed the game and its balance, and tested it. The code was written with Claude (AI-assisted), and many recent updates came from player feedback here on Reddit.
